Friendly Reminders...
** Snow Gear: Students may bring snow clothes (boots, snow pants, coat, hat, gloves) to school for use during our morning recess. Students that do not have boots and snow clothes will need to stay on the blacktop.
You may also choose to leave your child’s snow clothes at school for the week and they can bring them home on Friday. If you plan to do that, please let me know.
Dismissal Changes: Any change in your child’s dismissal routine needs to be noted in School Dismissal Manager. Also, please be sure your child's bus tag remains on their backpack.
Folders: Please be sure to send your child's folder to school each day. This folder will travel back and forth daily, please be sure to check it for important notices and amazing kindergarten work!
Extra Clothes: If you haven't done so already, please send in an extra set of weather appropriate clothes labeled with your child's name.
Snack: Our classroom is peanut and tree-nut free! We will have a daily snack around 10:15 each morning. Please send in a healthy, nut free snack with your child each day.
Lunch: Recess will be at 11:30 each day. Students will then go to the cafeteria for lunch at 11:50 Your child may bring lunch from home or purchase lunch from the cafeteria. The cost is $2.75. You can put money in your child's School Bucks account online and view the menu on the CPS website. Ice cream and Cookies can be purchased at lunchtime:
Wednesday and Friday - Ice Cream - $1.00
Thursday - Cookies (.50)
Water Bottles - Sold daily - $1.00
All sales are cash only unless we have written permission from home to allow it to come out of their lunch account.
Birthday Celebrations: Birthdays are very special occasions for children. You are more than welcome to read a book to the class. For children who have a summer birthday, we will celebrate them at the end of the school year. The school also requests that birthday invitations are not distributed in school unless the entire class is invited.
LobbyGuard: Highland School uses LobbyGuard Visitor Management System for all visitors. Please be sure to have a photo ID available when visiting the school. This, in addition to our monthly drills with Cheshire Police and Fire Departments, conveys the importance of school security each day at Highland School.
